Definition of Gad Fly

  • A fly that bites livestock, especially a horsefly, warble fly, or bot-fly.
  • An annoying person, especially one who provokes others into action by criticism.

The Gad Fly of the Greek Democracy[i]

  • Plato refers to Socrates as the “gad fly” of the state (as the gad fly stings the horse into action, so Socrates stung various Athenians).

The Gad Fly of the Christian Church[ii]

A New Paradigm in Christian Thinkingis the gad fly of the Christian Church.  Christian Churches do not accept criticism, ever. The price of criticism in the Christian Church is excommunication.  Christian sees themselves as “birds of a feather” and a critical bird is not of their nest.  They must protect the income and salaries of the professional Christians, the minds of their youth and the minds of all of their members from the gad flies of the Christian Church. Professional Christians must preach to the choir, instructing them on the religion that they have chosen to put their faith.  The cost of not preaching to the choir is that the choir will vote with their feet and donations, resulting in a loss of income to the church and the professional Christians who probably have children – if Protestant – that they need to get through college and a mortgage to pay off.   If the professional Christians are Catholic, they will not meet with the approval of the hierarchy of the church and will be excommunicated.

Max Planck, the German nuclear physicist of the early twentieth century, stated, “A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.[iii]

The same statement can be made of religion.  Acceptance of a new viewpoint of the existing data on religion can only take place when a younger generation becomes comfortable with these new views and those who are adamantly opposed to these new views die off.

Because of this self-protection of the minds of the youths, the church is destined to disappear for failure to keep up with our knowledge of the universe and the light it has shined on our knowledge and purpose of the visit to planet Earth of the Representative of the Creator of the Universe (RoCoU) two thousand years ago, and taught how the Homo sapiens who have evolved over the past thousands of centuries can get their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter met on this planet Earth and how to live in peace with each other and other nations.

An interesting side note is that Paleoanthropologist has found no link to the evolution of the Homo sapiens skull to that of the evolved Ancient Man, leaving open the creation of the Homo species by the “Creator of the Universe”.  Although ancient man and modern man have identical bone structure from the neck on down, their skulls and thus brains are much different, nor is there any evidence of a transitional development from the skull of Ancient Man to the skull (Brain) of the Homo Species. [iv]

The advances in our knowledge of the universe and the life creation process in the last one hundred years, mainly due to the Hubble Telescope and advances in life science, have put the Christian Church in a position where they need to update their theology from religious to pragmatic (cause and effect, science) or face extinction.  The church is clearly in a positon of “grow or die” and the church cannot possibly grow with the determination to maintain their existing course, a course established and handed down through the generations and centuries by people that did not understand the meaning, instructions from the RoCoU and implications of the events that had taken place in the very beginning of “The Way” or the Christian Church.  These events took place in a very religious society and that society, for the most part, saw and recorded these events through a religious lens (perspective).

Case Study I

The RoCoU that visited planet Earth two thousand years ago taught the audience that had gathered around Him how to get along with other people on a one-on-one basis and how nations could live in peace with one another on a nation-to-nation basis.[v]

  • For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” [vi] From the accepted Christian perspective, their judgments will be judged by a higher power at the end of the life of planet Earth. They do not see their judging others as something that has immediate consequences.  From the pragmatic perspective, the effect of judging others – be it one-on-one or nation-to-nation – will have immediate consequences.  All Homo sapiens on planet Earth are of equal authority; one does not have dominion over another. And as one Homo sapien judges another, so in turn are they judged by those they are judging in real time by the same measure they are using to judge! This holds true for one nation to judge another nation. As one nation judges another, so is that nation judged, by the measure they use to judge, by the nation they are judging.  As in the case where the USA is judging ISIS with “air strikes,” the USA is being judged by ISIS attacking soft target (civilian targets, airplanes, restaurants, public places, etc.) with bombing and assault weapons.  The USA has judged ISIS as “barbaric” and ISIS, in turn, has judged the USA as “barbaric”.  This ISIS War has made it impossible to tell the Barbarians from the Barbarians.

Wars of our past have been mislabeled.  We must remember that the President of the USA is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the USA.  The orders given by the President must be followed by the USA military forces.  The President does not issue illegal orders.  If the President  orders it, it is a legal order and must be obeyed by those in subornation to the Commander-in-Chief.  One can argue that they do not have to follow an illegal order, but they will probably be sent to the brig while the Supreme Court reviews their case. They will be removed from and replaced from duty and someone else will carry out the Commander-in-Chief’s order.

Therefore the Civil War as we know it was not our civil war – it was  Lincoln’s War.  The USA involvement in WWII was FDR’s and Truman’s War.  Harry Truman was President when the Korean War began in 1950, and Dwight Eisenhower was elected in 1952 and was President when the armistice was signed in 1953.  The Vietnam War was JFK’s initiative and LBJ’s Bombing War; Nixon pulled USA troops out of Vietnam. The Serbia vs. Bosnia, Kosovo, NATO was Clinton’s war.  The Persian Gulf War I with Iraq was G.H.W. Bush’s War.  The Iraq War was G.W. Bush’s War and the ISIS-ISIL War is Obama’s War.

As a professional troubleshooter for over forty years, I can equivalently state that, “A problem must be accurately described before action is taken to try and solve the problem; if not, a bigger problem will be the result.”  By placing the proper labels on our past wars, we should gain some insight as to the right problem to solve.

The Right Problem to Solve

  • Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.” [vii]

The term “workable compromise” was not coined until the twentieth century. Is it any wonder that our ancestors did not understand the meaning of the above instruction from the RoCoU during his visit to planet Earth two thousand years ago?  A workable Compromise is a solution to conflicts that work for all participants in the disagreement.  The first step in search of a workable compromise is to ask the conflicting subject, “What do you want?”  If one does not understand what the conflicting parties want, how can a resolution ever be found that works for the principle parties?

  • Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace.[viii]

Here we have the workable compromise on a much larger scale.  In the case of USA vs. ISIS, the question was never asked, “What do you want?”  If we trace back the steps of the previous administrations, we should be able to predict what ISIS-ISIL wants.  The Sunni Muslims were in power in Iraq prior to G.W. Bush’s administration.  G.W. Bush’s War left the Sunni dispossessed from their homeland by the puppet Shiite Muslim administration installed by Bush. Iraq’s neighbor, Syria, was involved in its own civil war; The Sunni Muslims, now still armed with their weapons from the now defunct Iraq Red Army, seized the opportunity and developed their base of operation in Syria.  This new ISIL then made pronouncement on video, in a very barbaric way, for the USA to “Stay out of our fight.”  The Obama administration judged ISIL as “terrorists” and initiated air strikes against ISIS-ISIL as they threatened our allies in power in Iraq.

As described above in Case Study I, judging a nation as terrorist will result in the judging nation to be judged as terrorist by the judged nation.   As the USA conducted air strikes against “hard targets” (military targets) in an attempt to minimize collateral damage (civilian deaths), ISIS-ISIL, in retaliation, began bombing and assaulting soft targets (Civilian Targets).

Judging and the lack of ability to negotiate a workable compromise by the Obama administration has, and will continue to, cost the western civilization much cost in damage, dislocation of refugees and lives of civilians.  It is apparent that even a routine change in the administration by a newly elected administration will not end this conflict with ISIS-ISIL. A resignation or impeachment of the Chief Executive seems the proper road to pursue.  A newly elected administration would be in a position of trying to apologize for the actions of the previous administrations, and that never happens.

The Lens Used for the Viewing of the Facts

The lens one views the facts, events or evidence through determines the conclusions that the viewer will hold as the correct interpretation of the facts, events or evidence. The classic scenario is this: Two men who are walking in the woods come upon an immaculate garden, complete with trimmed hedges, flower garden arrangements, etc.   One man states, “There must be a caretaker for this place.” The other man states, “What a wonderful work of nature.”   The events that took place during the visit of the RoCoU two thousand years ago can be looked at through a religious lens or a pragmatic lens.

There are two and maybe three writers that were able to record the events, of the visit to Earth by the RoCoU and the events that took place, without looking though there religious lens.  Mark, who wrote the book of Mark in the Book of Books, the Bible, was a young man on the perimeter of the core group who became the Apostles of the RoCoU. He found himself in Rome where much persecution was taking place of the “Christians” in Rome.  He took it upon himself to record for the purpose of history the events that had taken place during his life.  He was an eyewitness to some of the events and received reports from those who were part of the core group of the RoCoU.  The style of writing for an historian is to answer the questions, “who, what, where and when.”   Luke, who wrote the books of Luke (Luke I) and Acts of the Apostles (Luke II), was contracted to record the events that had and were taking place in this time period. [ix]  Luke wrote under the guidelines of a journalist, answering “who, what, where and when.”  Luke was an eyewitness to many of the events that took place, he interviewed others who were eyewitnesses of events and he was an embedded journalist with the Apostle Paul on his missionary journeys.  Matthew was a tax collector and a Jew who made an argument to Jews of the authentication of the RoCoU to the Jewish religion.  He sometimes included the “why” in his writings, as did John in the book of John.  This would make their writing styles, “who, what, where, when and why” a little more difficult to sort out the facts from their interpretation of the facts and events that took place during this visit of the RoCoU.  The Apostle Paul was highly educated in Jewish religion and history.  He viewed our relationship with the RoCoU through the lens of Jewish religion and history.  A close examination of the writing of Paul will disclose that his view of the RoCoU’s visit to planet Earth was religious and the RoCoU’s view of his visit to earth was pragmatic and the next step in the evolution of the Homo species on planet Earth.

The Gad Fly of the Democracy of the USA

The present day gad fly of democracy in the USA is The Top Gun National Crises Troubleshooter, Retired.[x]  The Greeks invented democracy from scratch and it worked well for them for about 170 years.  The Greeks were on the peak of their Golden Age when they got tired of hearing their gad fly, Socrates, who was a critic of their society, in particular of the shortcomings and corruption in this democracy.  Socrates was one of the founders of western philosophy.  The Greek Senate charged Socrates with “corrupting the minds of the youth,” and they sentenced Socrates to death.  The death of Socrates was the beginning of the downfall of Greece, for they had lost their “guidepost.”

The Top Gun National Crises Troubleshooter, like Socrates has been excommunicated from his position at a national laboratory by management that took offense to his proposals that threated their power structure.  His teaching credentials were canceled in a local church for “corrupting the minds of the youth” and not teaching the church’s official view on the subject. He was excommunicated from a church where he was a member in good standing for twenty years for publishing “A New Paradigm in Christian Thinking” [xi] and corrupting the minds of their youth and any other person in their church with science and philosophy.  Thank God for civil laws that protects our citizens from physical harm.

Our President has not chosen to listen to this gad fly, when he suggested that a workable compromise be initiated to resolve the conflict of space, control and authority in Iraq between the three different sects of Muslims. This was proposed by the Vice President, and now the reining authority in Syria has been added to the mix; he chose to put together a coalition of nations to wipe ISIS-ISIL from planet Earth.  ISIS-ISIL has retaliated with attacks against this coalition of nations and the USA hitting soft targets.  We should expect this activity to continue. The best outcome, using the best military forces on the planet,  for a military victory, will be guerilla warfare with the soft targets continuing to be hit by these guerilla fighters.  The only solution to the ISIS-ISIL conflict is a workable compromise – a permanent home for the displaced Sunni Muslims from their Iraq home.

Lessons from History

In 480 B.C. the Persians were set upon wiping the Greeks off the Earth or enslaving them.  The Persians greatly outnumbered the Greeks.  The Persians were under autocratic the rule of Xerxes; the Greeks were under democratic rule (one for all and all for one).   The Persians overran the Greek Spartans (trained warriors) at the pass of Thermopylae [xii] and sacked Athens, which had been evacuated by the Greeks.

The Persians had large war ships (similar to that of the USA navy, bigger than their opponents).  The Greeks built small maneuverable war ships with a torpedo like Ram on the bow of the ship (A trireme).  The Greeks lured the Persian navy in to the Aegean Sea where there were many islands presenting a maneuverable issue for the Persians.  With their mobility (like ISIS-ISIL), the Greeks ran circles around the larger Persian ships and rammed the Persian ships with their torpedo like Rams at the front of their ships and sank the Persian Fleet. [xiii]

Beware USA your large arsenal of weapons is being out maneuvered by an adversary who is focused on mobility.

The USA Transition from a Republic to a Democracy

The USA was formed as a republic and has been in a long transition to a democracy in small steps. This change has come about by allowing more of the population to vote in elections and it changed the way our President was elected.  In the beginning, only land owners could vote in the elections.  These were the people who had an invested interest in the profitability of the nation, much like that of stockholders voting in a corporation. [xiv]  The vote has slowly been extended, for various reasons, to other segments of our society who do not have an investment or knowledge of producing a profitable nation (women, teens, those on government assistance).  We certainly have improved on the lifestyles of our citizens, as have the Greeks, but our national debt is rising above our ability to pay the interest, which could eventually result in foreclosure on our property (nation) by our creditors (like the two bailouts of the Greeks by the EU in recent history).

The Life Span of a Democracy

The average lifespan for a democracy is about 170 years, as established by the Greeks.  In the Greek democracy, leaders were chosen by a lottery, thus minimizing payoffs and corruption in the government.  Serving as a leader was considered a duty of citizenship.  Ballots could be cast to remove a government leader from office and they would be exiled for ten years from their society. In the Greek democracy, only about 20 percent of the population could vote. [xv]   The Greeks now have more people on the government payroll than people paying taxes to support the government. Is this direction the USA wants to continue to pursue?

The Code of Conduct to Live Long in this Land

There is a “code of conduct” that was intended to provide for the continued success of a nation living long in the land that had been giving to them.  Unfortunately, these were given to a very religious people and they did not understand the economic implications of these Ten Codes of Conduct.  Unfortunately, these Ten Codes of Conduct are still seen as religious by almost our entire society, religious and secular alike.  When one sets aside their religious lens, the pragmatic lens shows that the economics of these Ten Codes of Conduct can be realized.  The original Codes of Conduct were given in an ancient language; therefore, the proper perspective is to look at them through the eyes of a parent giving instruction to their children so that they might live long in the land the parent was giving them to raise their generations.

  1. You will not listen to anyone but your father for guidance.
  2. You will not form addictions that will prevent you from making your own decisions.
  3. You will not use my name as an authority to cause trouble or discomfort for any other person on this planet Earth.
  4. You will take a day off, after every six days of work, and remember who gave you this land and enjoy your time with family and friends, and you will allow your employees time off to enjoy their family and friends, and you will not mow your lawn on this day and interrupt the peace of your neighbors.
  5. Remember what your mother and father taught you, and hand down those teaching to your children and grandchildren, that you might live long in this land I have given you.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not steal.
  8. You shall not give false witness against your neighbor.
  9. You shall not seek an intimate relationship with your neighbor’s wife.
  10. You shall not scheme to gain possession of your neighbor’s property.
  11. You will not build a big mansion type house in your neighbor’s back yard.
  12. You shall keep the walk-ways, of your communities, free of “F oxtails” that injure our pets. [xvi]

We got Trouble, Trouble, Trouble, Right here in the USA, It starts with ‘W’ and that Stands for Women? Ver. 1.0.1

    8/9/2015

The First Presidential Debate:

We just had our first real Presidential debate. I believe there were 10 men on the stage each with their own podium. The debate moderator was a female news reporter from a major news outlet. The front runner in the polls was center stage and the only non-politician on the stage. I did not watch the debate as I’m sure many Americans did not watch the debate. If the debate was about candidates voicing their opinions on the important issues that our country faces, then unless one actively watched the debate, we know nothing about the views of the candidates on any issue, as the news media insisted on making how we speak and regard women as the principle issue in this Presidential campaign.

From the news reports, apparently the female debate moderator posed a question to the front runner, the non-politician who is a little rough around the edges, something like President Harry Truman or President Theodore Roosevelt. She was evidently taking questions from the general population and putting them before the candidates. The question she posed to the front runner was about remarks he in the past had made about women, such as about their weight, their looks, and probably their intelligence. This Debate Moderator obviously never heard her mother teach her that “People who live in class houses should not throw rocks”. The front runner was greatly taken back by this question that had absolutely nothing to do with national issues and took the question as an ad hominem question designed to disqualify him for the office of President based on his attitude towards women. The front runner responded to this female debate moderator with some ad hominem statements of his own, designed to prove her incompetence of being an impartial debate moderator. The front runner is now being accused of bringing earthy and inappropriate language into a Presidential debate. I believe one of the derogatory comments the front runner was accused of making to women is that they were FAT.

    Fat is a Good Thing:

We have had, thanks to advances in agricultural technology, a feast environment in which to live. The media has portrayed women as slender – with the exception of “Mike and Molly” – and as runway models and even slender model television news reporters. All this hype has led us Americans to think that women should all be like these role models the media has displayed.

The population of Homo sapiens is increasing on this planet and agricultural land is decreasing to accommodate the increased population and, of course, keep our unemployment down and our economy up with this new construction. It should not take a seer to see a famine coming. Women are created to hold more fat than men. Men were created to have more muscle than women. When times of famines were a natural part of life, women were better suited to survive
the famine than men because they had stored up more fat than the men. A 20th century example was the German siege on Stalingrad. It was the women who survived this siege because of their fat content. Therefore calling a woman FAT is to give her a compliment; she is getting ready for the next famine and these runway models and model news reporters will be the first to succumb to the famine.

Bad Language not fit for President:

Other candidates have now argued that the front runner’s language skills are inappropriate for the office of President and that he has offended 53% of the voting citizens and their party could never win the election against the other party’s front runner, who is also a female.

      Much Discussion Ahead:

These events of recent activity have so many issues involved with them; it may not be possible to address them all in anything less than several volumes of written works. This writer will attempt, at least, to scratch the surface of the national issues involved in these discussions and charges.

Topics that Need Discussion:

 The role of women in national politics
 The voting rights of women in national politics
 An elitist society, that lends itself to promoting the educated and the educated from our elite colleges
 The dynamics of men and women serving together
 The focus of our nation on the equal rights of women in our society
 The basic difference of men and women
 The difference of how women vote for a President and how men vote for a President
 How men and women think, act and make decisions
 The priorities of men and women
 The functions of men and women in our nation
 The different styles of leadership of men and women
 The extreme: a matriarchal controlled nation

The Role of Women in our Nation</ul>

There are basic instincts involved with men and women. Men have a natural propensity to protect women. Historically, wars often took the lives of many men. Women are the only ones who have the ability to reproduce and replace the missing generation of men with newborn boys and raise them into manhood. Women are the future of our country; without women our country has no future. For this reason we protect our women and keep them out of harm’s way.

A friend of mine recently brought forward information concerning Israel’s experience with women on the front lines of a combat situation during their six-day war in the mid-1960s. He said that many of the men were killed trying to protect the women on the front line of this war. In a small group discussion in a church, two of the male class leaders were adamant about protecting women and had judged the front runner of the debate as acting wrongly towards a woman.

The front runner claims that if we focus on our attitudes towards women, we will never get anywhere in solving our real national problems. Most women and most men seem adamant that women need to be treated respectfully and certainly not be offended. This writer finds many uses for the statement made by Sam Houston, the Texas Ranger that defeated Santa Anna and gave us Texas. He said, “There is no honor in waging war against a woman.” This statement was no doubt directed to his wife who had filed for divorce, but seems to be applicable to many situations. If we, as a nation, put our focus on how we think, act and talk about women, our adversaries could well take advantage of this situation and overrun us or we could become so ineffective in solving our nation’s issues that we end up “Shooting ourselves in the foot.”

If other candidates for the Chief Executive of our country think that we need to solicit the votes of the women in our nation, then in effect we are putting women in control of our government. This leads to two choices of focus. 1) We seek the women’s vote and address the issues that the women of our country want to address and ensure that they get the respect they deserve. 2) We address the issues that need to be addressed instead of trying to socially engineer our candidates for the Chief Executive and Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces to the way that we think they should be groomed.

A Parallel to Bad Language Inappropriate for President:

There is an interesting parallel that this writer thinks should be presented to this situation of men’s manners and language skills. This parallel lies in the biography of Mr. John Newton. John Newton was the only son of a sea captain in Liverpool, England, which was a working class community. John was not treated very kindly by the other boys in his community. This was probably the result of a clash in the social order, noticeable to others because of John’s greater inheritance of innate knowledge from his sea captain father. John’s mother instilled in John the Gospel message until he was six years old, when she died of tuberculosis. John was exceptional in his ability to write fluently at the age of three, and memorized long text his mother gave to study. At the age of eight, he was sent off to boarding school. At age 10, he finished his formal education and went to sea with his sea captain father. By this time, John exhibited much behavior in being tough. He was mischievous, vulgar and blasphemous (degrading God), and in some countries, this is a crime punishable by death.

Mr. Newton became involved in the slave trade, as was a common and accepted practice in this time period of history. He landed a position as first mate on a slave ship whose captain was a friend of John’s father. On their return to England, after delivering their slaves to the West Indies and America, in a route crossing the North Atlantic Ocean, the ship experienced a strong hurricane force storm that put the ship in danger of sinking. In an effort to save the ship and its crew, John Newton came to his knees and asked God for his grace. The situation changed and the ship limped to land for repairs with all the crew safe.

Mr. Newton, with his attention turned back to the Gospel message that his mother had taught him, began a long self-study of God’s Grace. He landed a government position in the service of collecting duties from the incoming ships into Liverpool. This position afforded him and his wife a comfortable living in this working class community. John’s religious studies led him to interfacing with the new Methodist, Baptist and independent churches of England. The congregations of these churches were two social steps below his in-laws and his wife. The only church that would keep the peace in his family was the Church of England. Mr. Newton applied for ordination into the Church of England several times over about a five-year period, being rejected at every attempt. The Church of England was an elitist society and required its priests to have a degree from Cambridge or Oxford, and John’s formal education ended at the age of 10! John was self-taught in the study of God’s Grace. It was not until a wealthy landowner with political power in the Church of England, Lord Dartmouth, took an interest in Mr. Newton as a potential religious leader that John Newton was ordained into the Church of England and given a Parish in Olney, a working class community.

John Newton’s reputation as one of the world’s great preachers flourished in his position of curate in this Olney working class Parish. He began writing hymns to supplement his sermons. For his sermon of January 1, 1773, celebrating a new year and a new beginning, he wrote the song that would become “Amazing Grace”. This was published by Mr. Newton in 1779 in a Hymnal the “Olney Hymns,” with the uninspiring title of “Faith’s Review and Expectations,” and it was #41 in the Olney Hymnal. He had collaborated on this hymnal with William Cowper, who became known as one of England’s great poets, and this song remained in obscurity for 60 years. The song that John had written for the 1773 New Year became known as “Amazing Grace.” England ignored this song; it first appeared in writing, at least the last two verses in Harriett Beecher Stowe’s book “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” in 1852. It ironically was being sung by the decedents of the slaves that John Newton had brought to America when he was a captain of a slave ship. It had been handed down by oral tradition and was first published in William Walker’s book “The Southern Harmony” in 1835. The last verse, which begins “When we’ve been there ten thousand years,” and had been around orally for half a century in Afro-American worship, was added after the first three verses by Edwin Othello Excell in 1910 in “Coronation Hymns,” and is the accepted 20th century form of “Amazing Grace”. Aretha Franklin took “Amazing Grace” from Gospel Music to popular music by recording it in 1947. It shifted into political consciousness of Black America when she teamed up with Martin Luther King in the 1960s and put “Amazing Grace” on its way to becoming our official National Spiritual Anthem. Judy Collins took “Amazing Grace” beyond the church walls in 1970 as the final track on “Whales and Nightingales.” Many recordings of “Amazing Grace” were recorded onward after 1970. The bagpipes of the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards created the use of “Amazing Grace” as a melancholy lament appropriate for sorrowful occasions, and its use at funerals grew widely as when Judy Collins sang it at the funeral of her son in 1992 and it was sung as part of the memorial mass for John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1999. “Amazing Grace” came to be used frequently at joyful church services, weddings, baptisms, celebrations of anniversaries, and on important public occasions ranging from the opening of baseball games to ceremonies of national mourning, such as the loss of the astronauts on the space shuttle Challenger in 1986, and the 3,000 deaths at Ground Zero in New York after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001, and led by President Barrack Obama at the memorial service of those killed in a church who were attending a Bible Study group in 2015. In light of its recent history and usage, “Amazing Grace” has been called the Spiritual National Anthem of America. This is a description that can be applied even more widely on an international canvas, for the hymn soars above most boundaries as a simple celebration of the experience of grace. It is sung not only by Christians but by Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and people of no particular faith.

John Newton was influential in the abolishment of slavery in Great Britain and died the same year that England abolished slavery in Great Britain.i

Who do We want for President?

What if we compare the life of John Newton, and all that he did for mankind, to the life of the front runner in these Presidential debates? Are we to stand firm and condemn his crude language as inappropriate for the office of President of the USA? Certainly John Newton’s vulgarity and blasphemous words are a greater sin than speaking harshly to a female, news media reporter and debate moderator who deserved what she got for bringing to the debate this sexist “red herring.” Has the USA, like the Church of England, become an elitist society, where one must have a degree from one our prestigious colleges like Harvard Law School to become President of the USA? Is this the result of soliciting the women’s vote? Do women chose their President on different criteria than men chose their President? Are men really from Mars and women from Venus? Germany had a democratic government and the women of Germany overwhelmingly supported Adolf Hitler, for he promised to give them what they wanted. He promoted himself as the savior of Germany and he won the hearts of the women of Germany. Is that who we want for a President – someone who will promise our women what they want to hear in order to solicit their vote and win the election? Or do we want a President that speaks frankly and out front of the issues this country needs to address and how to address these issues? Will the front runner offend certain voting blocs and risk losing the election because he did not promise these voting blocs what they wanted?

The Election System the Founding Fathers Wanted:

Our Founding Fathers set up the President to be elected by the representative of the states. They did this to isolate the President from public opinion, which would allow our President to do what he thought was best for our country. Our President is no longer isolated from public opinion and therefore must promise the various voting blocs what they want in order to get elected. Once elected, the President can, for the most part, do what he thinks is best for the country, at least in his last and final term of office. If he needs to get reelected, then the President is still greatly subject to public opinion.

The News Media in Control of our Government:

The Founding Fathers had set up the election system to somewhat isolate Senators from public opinion, giving them six year terms and counting on the short memories of the voters so they could do what they thought was best for the country. The Founding Fathers gave Congressmen only a two-year term in office so that they would be sensitive to their constituents and represent public opinion. We now have an election system of government where the Chief Executive is subject and partially controlled by public opinion. And who is it that makes the public opinion known? Of course, it is the news media. Therefore, in effect, it is the news media that is in control of our government.

Was the news media upset with the front runner’s words to their representative as the debate moderator and did not the men of the news media come to her rescue and ban the front runner from participating in future debates? Yes, the men came to protect their female counterparts; this is the natural propensity of men to take care of the women.

How does these actions Affect Voter Rights?

The female debate moderator was lucky that she was not asking her sexist questions of me. How dare she bring sexism into a Presidential debate, this is a “Red Herring”. If this is a representative of the women in this country, we may have to revoke their right to vote so that we can address the really important issues this country faces and not these “Red Herrings” that a female debate moderator did not have the sense to hold back in the first place. She is lucky that I am not her boss. If I were her boss, I would have handed her a broom and a bowl cleaning brush and sent her to sweep the floors and clean the latrines.

Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus

We hear the cry at every opportunity, “Equal Pay for Equal Work.” The idea of equal sexes needs some discussion. If men and women were equal in every way, our Homo sapien race would become extinct in one generation. We almost accept the fact that women can do things a man cannot do. Are men really from Mars and women from Venus?i

The first obvious item is growing and giving birth to a baby. I’m sure the science is on the horizon for man to grow and birth a baby, but it has not yet been developed – thank God! The second observed difference by women and some men is a woman’s intuition. Women know they think intuitively. Thirdly, women seem to have the ability to read men. I cannot even come close to counting the number of interactions that I have had with a husband and wife team (partners) and heard the wife advising her husband on what I was really saying, what I was really trying to accomplish, and what my motives were! I have almost reached the point of refusing to discuss business transactions or have any discussions with a man when his female partner is in on the conversation. Fourthly, women seem much more in-tune to emotions than men.

Case Study Emotions:

My partner has strived to protect some dead person’s reputation rather than look at the facts from an analytical point of view and learn something about “Proactive Defensive Driving and Passive Defensive Driving” from analyzing the situation that cost this dead person their life. Driving to the far right as possible and waiting for a drunk driver to come to his senses and move over to his right lane is passive defensive driving, and is what cost this father of her lifetime best friend his life and endangered everyone else in the car. A proactive defensive driver would have kept his car moving, as did the driver in this case, and move over to the left lane when it became obvious the other driver was not going to move his car over to his assigned lane (his right lane) and avoid the accident! Why put so much emotional energy in saving a dead person’s reputation when she has a live person sitting across the table from her, and this person has enough experience, in this situation, that could be shared and she could learn something about how not to end up dead from being in the same situation as this dead person to whom she is emotionally tied!

Men Have Skills Women Do Not Have:

Is it that difficult for women to acknowledge that men are capable of doing things a woman cannot accomplish? Outside of muscular power and heavy lifting, and fixing everything around the house, are there other differences that women need to acknowledge in men. The best that my partner can come up with when something needs to be repaired around the house is to try and come up with a name of a professional that can be hired to do the job! What about men’s natural troubleshooting skills? Are these to be ignored by the women? Unless of course they need him to troubleshoot a situation – then they remember our troubleshooting skills. Let’s look at the skills of rational thinking, analytical and deductive reasoning, and problem-solving skills that at least some men possess. And let’s not forget “Autonomous Reflection” skills. To date no woman has showed herself to be an Enlightenment Philosopher. Women have been students of philosophers, but have not shown they are capable of the analytical thought process that was recorded and established by Rene` Descartes in the later part of the 17th century as a method to determine the truth, rather than being told what was the truth by the civil and religious leaders of his time. Since the discovery of this autonomous reflection process, many philosophers have engaged this process.

In the late 17th and 18th centuries, these philosophers became known as the Enlightenment Philosophers. The truths that these Enlightenment Philosophers ascertained influenced Thomas Jefferson to write the Declaration of Independence of the of the United States of America as he was directed to do so by John Adams, as Adams was a lawyer and had oratory skills and Jefferson had the skill of prose. The English Enlightenment Philosophers initiated the “Bloodless Revolution” in England. The French Enlightenment Philosophers initiated the French Revolution and a lesser known revolution in the Ottoman Empire. There are some notable women who have initiated their own revolution including Golda Meir (Israel), Carrie Nation (the temperance movement), and Susan B. Anthony (right for women to vote), and many other women, but none who has come forward as an Enlightenment Philosopher.ii

Women have Capabilities that Men Do Not Have:

The cries for equality in the military were heard loud and clear by this writer when in a night class in Social Science. The subject was on women in a combat role in our military. I introduced the thought given to us by Sam Houston, Texas Ranger who defeated Santa Anna and gave us Texas. He said, “There is no honor in waging war against a woman.” This may have been in response to his wife filing of divorce, but should apply equally for a military combat situation. A young military age young woman stands up and declares, “I can do anything a man can do.” The instructor asked her if she had heard what he had said. Obviously her mind was closed to anything that would stand in her way to compete equally with men in the military. That may be the case but men cannot do everything a woman can do.

In WWII, Adolf Hitler immersed the youth of Germany in Nazism, and that taught them that it was of great honor to die for the country and its Supreme Ruler. The Allies were forced to shoot and kill these boys and some girls ages eight to eighteen because, as long as they had the means to fight, they fought to the last boy or girl. Regular German armies would surrender when they saw they were greatly outnumbered and out gunned. Not so with Hitler’s youth; they fought to the last boy. One comment by a German officer was, “They didn’t know how to live, but they sure knew how to die.” What a dishonor the men of the Allies must have felt, killing boys no older than their own children and even some girls. We know more about PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) today than they did just after WWII. How many of these men had to live with this trauma of killing children for the rest of their lives? Our family doesn’t talk about the war record of this writer’s oldest brother, but the likelihood of him suffering from PTSD is pretty high. One day he left his family and small children and was not heard from until he came home to die from the diseases that took his life at only middle age, probably because of living the life of a homeless person on the street. How many of these returning WWII veterans had similar experience? Would we be any different than Adolf Hitler if we forced our adversary combatants to kill women and face dishonor for doing so? This writer thinks that when we force our enemies to kill women, they will be even more inspired to put us out of business just as we put Adolf Hitler out of business.

In this early 21st century, the USA is facing a new adversary – one that is teaching their young boys and girls that killing themselves and the infidels (us) for their God is honorable and the right and expected thing to do. How are we going to handle a situation with a child wearing a suicide vest and looking to kill Americans?

Women can bear children. Men cannot bear children and cannot replace those lost in combat, and women can! This is one reason we keep the women and children out of harm’s way so that they can sustain the future of our country. Without women, the country will have no future. They are the only ones who can provide our country with a future and they must be kept out of harm’s way. It is so important to get this message it deserves repeating “Women are the future of our country”.

Case Study women in the Military:

When I was into middle age and I decided to follow a suggest path of study, by one of my most educated co-workers, and study Philosophy. I and my then girlfriend, and now partner, signed up for a night class in Philosophy at the local community college. The class was a mixture of young college age students and mature adults, taught by “a firstborn female” Philosopher. I mention “firstborn” as she had a close younger sister which would make her one of the most aggressive women in our society. She presented us with a class problem to solve in small groups. The ship we were sailing on in the ocean was sinking and we only had one life boat for all on board, only enough room for the female passengers and one male passenger. Who would the female passengers choose to be the man who would join them in the lifeboat, and who would go down with the ship. The majority of the women in our group were young and fully capable of reproducing our species. Being middle aged and much experiment in survival skills at sea and multi-skilled in several survival skills; navigation, search and rescue, and building skills; design and building a new community and leadership skills as well. The young women were concerned about my ability to reproduce the species, the function of women to the survival of the species. This group of young women chose a young man to go with them in the life boat. The speaker for this group addressed me directly “Maybe you can use all of your many skills to save the sinking ship”. Even our female instructor was amazed at the solution our group came up with quote “I know what they want”. She also expressed concern that “my future partner made no effort to support my case for going into the life boat”. This should have been a red flag to pay attention to as this is still an issue with us after twenty years into our partnership. The young women in our group were concerned about the survival of the species and they saw that as their primary duty on this earth! This is the reason we keep women out of harm’s way and when it comes down to choosing who should life and who should die, it is the women and children that must be saved so they can save our species!

Should we put our young women in close quarters with young men in the military – young men and young women still running on hormones and the effects of oxytocin? There was a reason that our ancestors did not allow women onboard a war ship – or any ship for that matter – where they were in clear view of the crew of the ship. We are conducting an experiment in our military by putting young women in close quarters with young men. How is this experiment progressing? The number of sexual assault cases pending for military courts is off the chart! Do we really think we can tame the very hormones that cause young people to overcome all the barriers that stand in their way and reproduce our species? Women have power over men and men have power over women. This is a fair fight and this is how the colony of Homo sapiens survives.

Should we put our young women in close quarters with young men in the Military; young men and young women who are still running on hormones and the effects of oxytocin, the survival of the species hormone?iv There was a reason that our ancestors did not allow women onboard a war ship or any ship for that matter where they were in clear view of the crew of the ship. We are conducting an experiment in our Military by putting young women in close quarters with young men. An experiment that could result in the loss of control of our country. How is this experiment progressing? The number of sexual assault cases pending for Military Courts is off the chart! The cases are backed up waiting to be heard by a Military Court. Can a Military Court think in any terms other than punishment? Do we really think we can tame the very hormones that cause young people to overcome all the barriers that stand in their way and reproduce our species? Women have power over men, men have power over women this is a fair fight and this is how the colonies of Homo Sapiens survive.

Case Study Reason and Logical Thinking:

I was convinced that women were highly emotionally motivated and had an absolute lack of skill in rational and analytical thinking when an officer in the Women’s World Cup organization demanded that the women soccer players get the same pay as the men soccer players. The news reporter verified the facts that the Men’s World Cup soccer players received 9% of the revenue and the women’s World Cup soccer players received 13% of the revenue. Only someone who is emotionally driven would conclude that the men were paid more than the women. It is true that the revenue for the Men’s World Cup was four times the revenue of the Women’s World Cup, which resulted in the men receiving three times the pay as the women. But it should not take a rocket scientist to deduce that the men were paid more than the women because the Men’s World Cup had four times as many spectators as the Women’s World Cup. This statement shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that most women are incapable of rational analytical thinking and therefore men should be paid more than women in areas of critical thinking.

Social consequences of Equal Pay for Equal Work

    :
The second argument is about the social impact of a family with a double income that inflates the value of all goods and service because of the direct value relationship of supply and demand. This makes it very difficult for a single income family to compete for goods and services against the buying power of the two income families. The cost of goods and services will reach the level of the two income family in all areas, home, food, supplies, gas, and health service and even the plumber. Just take a look at Maslow’s Pyramid of Hierarchy of Needs. At the bottom of the pyramid is “Food, Clothing and Shelter.” This is where single income families often end up – at the bottom of Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs”!v vi Payment to partners should therefore be adjusted so as not to put single income families into economic stress.

When two income families cause the price of all commodities in our society to rise to the level of demand for those commodities, the single income families – and single mothers in particular – need to earn extra income to compete for these commodities. If they are dealing with the public, and able to engage in a personal conversation with their clients, they are in a position to earn extra income by selling the personal information they can “gleam” from their clients as they were allowed to “gleam” the fields of wheat.vii Sellable information could be questions like when are you going on vacation, where do you live, what are the times your home is unattended, do you have items of value in your home? There is a black market for this information and these single mothers would be call solicitors of information. The two income families or their insurance companies pay their salaries in the form of insurance premiums and reimbursements for stolen property.

A Case Study of my mother an unpaid or low paid home keeper:

My mother was the oldest of six children of a first generation “spare the rod and spoil the child” Norwegian. She recounted hearing her teenaged brothers’ screams in the woodshed as they were administered the leather belt “for their own good” by her father. She graduated with honors from her high school and was given a reward for reading every book in her school library. She graduated from a girl’s school in Milwaukee; she was baptized as a teenager and married a doctor of veterinarian medicine. She raised four children; I was her last.
She worked in a local market in the dry goods department as their sales lady. She mentioned then how the men salesmen received more pay than she did for being in the same job classification. We had a lot of first generation Europeans, in our community, who didn’t believe in taking baths, and she related how she politely covered her nostrils to eliminate the stench while she served these European ladies. Were the salesmen this polite?

I am still amazed at how vast was my mother’s knowledge. I was learning to play golf at the local golf course, self-taught, and she accompanied me on the course because I was too young to play by myself. She commented on my golf swing, “When your feet feel like they want to move backwards, you have the swing right.” My mother is a woman and golf is a man’s game – how could my mother know anything about golf? In my early thirties, I began improving my golf swing. I obtained a golf book written by a golf playing engineer. He explained the golf swing in terms of physics, which was my minor in college, complete with stroboscopic photos of the perfect golf swing. He showed, on the driver, how the club head preceded the club shaft to the ball and stated that, “When you feel your feet wanting to slide backwards, you have the swing right.”

When I left home at the age of eighteen, leaving my Midwestern home for the coast of Oregon, she gave me her final going away instructions. “Stay away from this __________church denomination, they are too far off track and have not a chance of recovery.” My best friend, a girl, was brought up in this ___________denomination. I told her that I would write to her and let her know where I was. When I got to Oregon, I wrote her my first letter, and I never got a response. My mother joined the rest of us – my two sisters and families – in a small town near the Oregon coast. She brought news that my best friend, a girl, was upset with me not writing to her and she had expressed this to another of our classmates. I had no idea how to handle this situation with a gap of several thousand miles between us and, since I was afraid to try and contact her by phone, my oldest sister suggested that I enlist in the armed forces to get that behind me and earn credit on the GI Bill to go to college like my older brother (10 years older) had done in the Navy and then went to college on the GI Bill. I enlisted in the Air Force and, after boot camp in Texas and a few years in the Central Valley of California at a SAC Training Base, I was transferred to the South Pacific in support of the Vietnam War. One of my high school buddies came through our base on his way to Vietnam and he looked me up. We met at the Airman’s Club and he told me he had dated my best friend, who was a girl, and stated that all she could talk about was me. Not only that, he told me she was getting ready to marry the other fellow who was hanging around who grew up in the same ________________church denomination as my friend. “God how has thy forsaken me.” I had no idea how to handle this situation, I was in a war zone, and she has not responded to my letters. I solved the problem by going into the neighboring town to the base, got drunk as hell and started on a path of self-destruction. Some weeks or months later, I recovered from this path of self-destruction and enrolled in a correspondence course to prepare myself for college. I had taken an English and Algebra class when I was stationed in California, so I was now getting back on track for college.

I wrote a girl that I had met in Oregon; she was now at Lewis and Clark College. We corresponded for my duration in the South Pacific and she even sent me a photo of her to look at. She was of Methodist upbringing and the daughter of an owner of a logging company. She traveled to England as part of her college experience. When I returned to the states, we met at her home. We talked for several hours, smoking a pack of cigarettes, when her mother suggested that we wrap it up. We said goodbye, she went back to her college in the north and I went off to start college in the south. This is the last time we communicated with each other. She got me through the war and she is much appreciated for doing so; I may not have returned to the states if she had not answer my first letter. My mother was so right about these religious conflicts that were in the Midwest. I should have learned the lesson my mother gave to me on my departure from the Midwest when I was five years younger! “Stay away from those of this _______________denomination, they are too far off track and they have no chance of recovery.”

I returned to the USA and enrolled in a technical college and got a room in a ladies’ house who was renting out rooms. One of my roommates, former Air Force, was working at the local hospital and was sparking a neighbor girl and he needed someone to take care of her roommate when he went to her apartment for a visit just a block away from our boarding house. This roommate and I started dating; I took her to meet my mother at my oldest sister’s home in the valley of Oregon. My mother took me into the garage and said “Are you sure about this? She does not look like she is all there.” I made the excuse for her that she had recently lost her own mother in a family car accident, hit by a drunk driver, and she was still in recovery from this loss.

My mother had since married again after my father died while I was in my last semester of high school. She married her boyfriend of her youth who was also a widower. He found out she was on the west coast and came up from southern California to marry her. They did so by going to Reno and getting married, Reno style. At my first term’s break at college, I followed in my mother footsteps and we went to Reno and got married by a one-armed Justice of the Peace. She grew up in the same __________denomination church that my high school girlfriend had grown up in so I thought that she would be the equivalent of my high school girlfriend.

My daughter was born before I graduated from college and when I accepted a position at the prestigious national laboratory in Northern California, she filed for divorce (her father would not step foot into California; he had a bad experience there). She continued on this divorce course without me and without my consent; however she still sold all my personal property. I managed reconciliation after I had obtained living quarters in northern California. We got moved into my trailer along with my daughter and dog. I managed the purchase of a house by using my veterans benefits and we set up housekeeping. My son was born into this house and we managed with me bringing home the bacon and the wife serving her church.

We did okay until my wife had an operation that changed her personality to that of a verbal abuser. I still needed to support my family, so I found a house to share with another man and applied myself to my vocation as a Troubleshooter for the Energy Department. One of my co-workers suggested I attend a Christian Seminar in the Coliseum. I did, as I had no close relatives to help with this situation, and all my friends were also my co-workers. I knew our family
needed outside support so I joined a ______________church, as it turned out this _______________denomination was a longstanding enemy of my wife’s ___________________denomination. She filed for divorce again. I was on the east coast, performing my troubleshooting assignment for the Energy Department, during most of the divorce proceedings and when I returned home, she had her divorce, full custody of the children, the dog, the house, child support and alimony. I had “reasonable” visitation rights with the children.

On my first weekend back home from the east coast, I had the children for the weekend. On that Saturday night as the children and I were doing activities in my shared home and planning to go to my new church of _______________denomination, there was a hard knock on the door. I opened the door and my now ex-wife sticks her foot in the door and orders the children out of my house and into her waiting car! The children were not going to attend this ________________church on Sunday! So much for reasonable visitation rights, for it is in the eye of the beholder. I was told to find a lawyer; I did and we spent the next five years discussing child custody matters in the Superior Court. The now ex-wife even paid a visit to the pastor of my new church and “READ-HIM-OUT” for allowing her children to attend his church! I heard about this from my pastor.

I had no idea my mother was so knowledgeable, she was so well read that she knew that my now ex-wife’s church denomination and that of my high school girlfriend were “so far off track that they had no chance of recovery and that I should steer clear of them.” “My God, how hath thy forsaken me.” The moral of this case study is to listen to your mother, as she knows more than you will ever realize. But should she get paid for passing her knowledge onto the next generations? That is the question. Should mothers receive equal pay for equal work? If so, who is going to pay for all this work that a mother puts into her children?

      The Path to my Blog:

I became a Sunday school teacher for 17 years. I was just a vehicle for the church in that I took the information passed out by the church and relayed this information to my class. Being a researcher and troubleshooter by nature and profession, one Easter Sunday, it came to me that something was not right about this theology we were teaching on Easter Sunday. I wrote my first and only Sunday school lesson plan called “Believing without Seeing.” My pastor had moved on to a new church; in fact my present partner and I were united by him and his wife in his new church, during a bluegrass music campout in his new community. My Sunday school class director was not impressed with this new lesson plan that I had presented my table of three boys and a girl. As we were preparing for the next Easter Sunday’s lesson, I stated that I would come up with something for a lesson plan. I received a home visit from the church Sunday School Director and had my teaching credentials reduced to “Substitute Teacher only.” I had already been called to another church in our new neighborhood and we were actually doing double time in both churches. We completed our move to the new church. My lesson plan “Believing Without Seeing” had put me on a new path.

After about 18 years in this new church led by then three nonprofessional church members, there arose an opportunity to further my research into this idea that Jesus had come to this earth for some other reason (“Believing Without Seeing”) than what the Christian Church was putting forth. There was to be an intense study of the Book of Acts of the Apostles presented at this church and they were going to have Socratic discussions as parts of this study. I attended the introductory meeting and became aware of the great volume of material that I would be expected to read. I met with the now two professional pastors of the church and proposed that I be allowed to participate in the Socratic discussions in this program. Having studied philosophy in college, I knew what Socratic discussions were all about. I stated that I wanted to perform a research project on the Book of Acts using scientific methods or protocols. The Teaching Pastor stated that they did not “want any science around here.” I was referred to one of their adult Bible study classes, which miraculously was just beginning an in-depth study of the Book of Acts.

I soon learned that I was in this class to listen and not voice my opinion. Therefore, I chose to express my opinion on the web. These insights came from the information that was developing in this class led by three PhDs of various fields. Our leader a graduate of one of the nation’s esteemed universities, and he made it clear that he was the professor in charge of this class study group. We finished the Book of Acts at a pace of about one chapter per week. When we concluded the Book of Acts, I put all my insights of this information into my blog: http://anewparadigminchristianthinking.wordpress.com/ as “The Fast Track to the Gospel of Jesus” “The Pentecostal event”.

We began an in-depth study of I and II Corinthians and I recorded my insights under the heading “The Evolution to the Christian Church”:

    http://anewparadigminchristianthinking.wordpress.com/tag/eveoltion-of-the-church-part-I/ and https://anewparadigminchristianthinking.wordpress.com/tag/eveoltion-of-the-church-part-II/

This is still a work in progress as we are now having an in-depth study of the Book of Romans “How the Gospel of Jesus was Derailed” and “The Corruption of the Gospel of Jesus”. These papers will be published at the conclusion of this study of the Book of Romans. My mother knew all this information or at least some of it when I was still a young man!

    To be continued

Case Study, Emotional and Logical Thinking:

I was at a Farmers Market recently buying some corn on the cob. Two teenaged girls were speaking to the lady grower and asking her to “make sure there are no bugs in the corn.” Apparently they had opened a corn and found a bug or a slug. But they did not have any vision of what they were asking this lady grower to do! To eliminate all the bugs and slugs, she would
have to increase her use of pesticides on the corn. The pesticides would in turn run off into creeks and rivers and enter into the food chain through the fish that live in the water. This would greatly complicate our lives as we try to deal with the increase in water contaminated with pesticides. The mature lady grower knew of the consequences of using pesticides or at least the state statutes on the use of pesticides, but the two teenaged girls did not have a clue and we want these emotionally driven female teenagers to vote! Is this a matter of immaturity and experience or is it something to do with sexual identity? Do male teenagers have the ability of analytical thinking and would they make better voters?

      Women are Data Base Searchers:

Two Case Studies on Data Base Searches and hands-on solutions:

I have recently and in the past noticed that women depend on a data base to solve their problems, meaning they come up with the right part number to solve a problem. Men are more hands-on and will solve the problem using their hands. In one case, I was interacting with U-Haul on matching up my new receiver on my truck to a ball hitch at the right height. Two of the women I had contacted on the phone searched their data base for a solution. The last lady admitted she could not come up with a part number and referred me to their customer service number. This woman referred to her data base of U-Haul vendors in my zip code and directed me to the U-Haul Dealership. I met with a young man there who found the right hitch ball for my receiver with his hands, a tape measure and a wrench!

I had a similar experience with a local lock smith’s office. I needed a key made from a Ford style key to put into a programmable keyed lock; I did not have a Ford key. She could not find a part number in her data base so she could not accomplish the task. A male locksmith would have found a blank Ford key, put some keyways on the key and programed the lock with this new key! I ended up sending the lock back to the supplier and ordering a different lock!

There are Three Categories of Knowledge:

All of us have received knowledge from different sources and we received different knowledge from these different sources. The three sources of knowledge are Innate, Environmental and Acquired. Even children from the same family receive different innate knowledge from the same parents and a child, with siblings, of one family receives different environmental knowledge than their siblings. The firstborn into a family receives less innate knowledge than the lastborn into a family. The firstborn is raised by inexperienced parents, the lastborn by more experienced parents. The lastborn receives more innate knowledge from their more experienced parents than the firstborn. All the children in a family, no matter large or small, receive different environmental knowledge from their parents, siblings and community.viii

      Innate Skills:

Men are from Mars and women are from Venus. They have different innate skills and therefore will perform the same job assignment in different ways. We all had different parents with different skills and education. We did not enter into this world with a “white slate.” We came into this world inheriting skills and knowledge from our parents (a priori)ix Innatism and Nativismx.

      Two Case Studies Innate Skills:

Not even all men are the same, let alone all men and women being the same.xi On the TV show Jeopardy, a young man said he had “perfect pitch.” They played a note for him and he correctly named the note. He stated that his sister, father and grandfather all had perfect pitch.

When I was a young man on a USAF Flight Line in the South Pacific, my sergeant identified me as a troubleshooter. I not only got assigned to the tough troubleshooting jobs on the aircraft jet engines, but one day, I was picked up by my sergeant when I arrived on shift (a 12-hour shift). The other crew had been troubleshooting a jet engine on an aircraft all night and could not find the problem. On the way to the aircraft my Sargent told me the symptoms the engine was displaying and when we arrived at the front of the aircraft, I told my sergeant what the problem was and how to fix the engine. After I returned from the war, I graduated from college at the top of my class and was invited to join the staff at the prestigious national laboratory in Norther California. After 25 years of troubleshooting for the Energy and Defense Departments, I earned the reputation as the “Top Gun National Crises Troubleshooter.” I obviously received the visualization skills of a troubleshooter from my father who was a doctor of Veterinarian medicine, also a troubleshooter; “I had inherited my Troubleshooting Skills from my father”.

    Equal Pay for Equal Work?

How can we evaluate what is equal pay for men and women when they, in reality, are not performing the same job assignment, because they will approach the job differently with different skills and knowledge? We get classified into a job classification, possibly ranked according to our accomplishments, but that is as far as it goes to compensate workers for their contribution to the bottom line of the organization.

The only real judge of performance is the bottom line or the rate of return on investment produced by the different individuals and sexes. This bottom line needs to be evaluated differently for different job assignments. For professional soccer players, it seems to be the revenue they produce that is the guiding factor in evaluating equal pay for men and women. In the case of World Cup Soccer, the men received only 9% of the revenue and the women received 13% of the revenue. I assume this was an attempt at equal pay for equal work as the men’s revenue was four times the revenue of the women’s World Cup.

For the president of the USA, their ability to see the future of their decisions should be used to evaluate their compensation. Are they skilled in “Autonomous Reflection,” as were the Founding Fathers? No woman to date has established herself as an Enlightenment Philosopher, indicating that this is a man skill. Does the women’s intuition make up for a lack of this skill in reflection? Does the women’s making decisions by emotions equal that of decision making by the analytical process? There is much vagueness in who produces the best bottom line, be it in private enterprise, government entities, or social organizations, or of scientific research and, of course, surgeons and medical professions. The bottom line in any organization is what should drive the compensation structure, be it male or female. It’s the bottom line that counts for what kind of results they are producing.

    Job Classification:

For the rest of us, we are given a job classification, ranked according to our accomplishments and contributions to the organization we support and are compensated accordingly. But even this assumes one has been classified into the right job classification, and this was done by people unfamiliar with our personal history and was probably the result of the acquired education that we received, and not our innate skills or the skills developed from the environment that we grew up in. But we are classified only on our acquired knowledge and skills. They can measure our acquired knowledge by our degrees and GPA, but they cannot measure our innate, environmental knowledge and acquired knowledge outside the credited education system and thus the latter two are dismissed when it comes to assigning us a classification and we end up with an elitist society.

Case Study in an elitist society:

John Newton was an 18th century Evangelical preacher with the Church of England. He began life as the only son of a sea captain. His mother instilled in him the Gospel message until he was six years old, when his mother died. At the age of three, he was able to read fluently and memorize long passages of text. In his later years, he claimed he could then write, just as well as he did at age three! He was sent off to boarding school at the age of eight and into the merchant marines, aboard his father’s ship, at the age of ten, the end of his formal education. The slave trade was common place at this time and Newton, after many troubles and trials and a near sinking of the ship he was on during a strong North Atlantic storm. As mostly an outcast of society, he became very tough, mischievous and downright blasphemous. It was during this storm that he knelt and prayed to God for his grace and save him and the crew from certain death. After this experience, he spent many years on the sea with time to study the Bible and religious works of others, as he was involved with slave trading as the captain of a slave ship. He became a lay preacher in his community. When he had left the sea an accepted a position in the government as a duty officer for his home port in Liverpool, he was advancing in his home
schooling of the Gospel. He wanted to change vocations and become a preacher in the Church of England. The other dissenting churches he was friendly with but distanced from them. When he submitted his application for ordination in the Church of England, he was refused; he did not have a degree from Cambridge or Oxford (required in an elitist society) and his relationship with the dissenting churches was too close for the authorities of the Church of England. He came to the attention of a wealthy landowner with political power in the Church of England and because of him, John Newton was ordained, after several years of rejection, into the Church of England and given a Parish of which to minister. It was John Newton and another slave ship captain that was influential in the abolishment of slavery in Great Britain. An English Historian, George Macaulay Trevelyan, wrote this of John Newton: “Lord Dartmouth made interest in high Episcopal quarters to obtain the ordination of John Newton who was too much in earnest about religion to be readily entrusted with a commission to teach it – except as a matter of favor to a great man.” xii

    Conclusion:

Therefore, we are all in the same boat. We are all different and will all perform differently in the same job classification and are ranked differently in that classification according to our contribution to the organization and, in an imperfect elitist classification system as well.xiii.

We got Trouble, Trouble, Trouble, Right here in the U.S.A., It starts
“I-W-Y-L” and that stands for “I Win, You Lose” ver. 1.0.1

    4/9/2015

The police forces of the U.S.A. are retaining officers with the attitude that “I win, you lose”. This attitude has made the news in recent events where the officers clearly had this attitude that they were going to win and the alleged suspect is going to lose. It has shown up in Fergusson, Missouri, Chicago, Illinois, and North Charleston, S.C. There are several possibilities for the origin of this attitude of “I win, you lose,” for this attitude has been observed in many circumstances many times.

    Communication Styles:

Communication professionals have identified four different styles of communication and actions: “I win, you lose,” “I win, you win,” “You win, I lose,” and “You win, I lose, but I will get you back.” These styles are also identified by names: Aggressive, Assertive, Submissive, and Passive Aggressive. These styles of communication have also been labeled: Parent to Child, Adult to Adult, Child to Parent, and Loser to Winner. These styles of communication have been characterized as: Tyrant, Adult, Door Mat, and Snake-in-the-Grass.

The Origin of I Win You Lose:

Psychology has chimed in on this situation of “I win, you lose” origins. Adlerian Psychologist has attributed these tendencies of aggression to their family of origin. For example, the older of two brothers, close in age, could produce a male with aggressive tendencies in the older male developing the “I win, you lose” attitude. The younger brother, having experienced bulling from his older brother, will have the tendency to bully others as well, thinking this is how to treat other people. Therefore, these aggressive “I win, you lose” tendencies could have their roots in the family of origin.

Military training is all about “I win, you lose.” The transition from being taught to destroy an enemy (“I win, you lose”) in the military to “I win, you win” in civilian life is not always an easy transition to make. We could see many of our war veterans, struggling with this transition to civilian life; it is not easy to reeducate one’s communication style once indoctrinated into an aggressive style, or any of the other dysfunctional styles, of communicating with others.
The environment that one grows up in can influence their communications and actions. Even one’s formative years in grade school and high school is often shaped by their teachers, who have this “I win, you lose” attitude. If this is how we are going to train our children, can we really expect them to grow up and invent their own assertive “I win, you win” communication style which will precede their actions towards others?

Some of us then send or have sent our children to Sunday school, where hopefully they will learn how to relate to others as equals. But, even in church setting, this writer has witnessed “I win, you lose” attitudes. It seems as if our missions in life can take precedent over our relations with others.

    Maturity:

C. G. Jung observed a change in men’s lives between the ages of 35 to 39 years. Working with the general population, he surveyed men of various ages and in this survey he asked them one question: “Is God important in your life?” He received responses like, “God has no meaning in my life” to “God is the most important person in my life.” He plotted this data on an X-Y Cartesian coordinate graph. The results were nothing short of amazing; there was a huge spike in the curve between the ages of 35 and 39 years where the responses changed from God having no influence to God being the most important person. Therefore, it can be concluded that men will often see a transition in their life during this mid-life time period. It could prove to be a very interesting follow-up study to see if these men who transitioned from God having no influence to God being the most important” attended Sunday school in their youth.

We are What We Fight Against:

Psychologists have also observed that a person will become like what they are fighting against. For our police officers, this is a warning sign. In order for our police officers to maintain their perspective, they need to be associated with a group of people who are not fighting against the behavior that our police officers see every day. If our police officers associate mainly with other police officers, it will be difficult for all the officers to maintain the proper perspective about other people, and a culture of “I win, you lose” can spread throughout the police force.

The Solution to “I Win, You Lose”:

It appears that the most effective change we could make in our police forces is to require our officers of the law to participate with a group of people that see a more friendly side of life in our society, such as a church, a charitable nonprofit organization, or a club with charitable objectives. The basic premise for these types of programs can be found in Paul’s writings in I Corinthians Chapter 13 that ends with verse 13: “And these three remain, Faith, Hope, and Love/Charity, but the greatest of these is love/Charity”.

We got Trouble, Trouble, Trouble, Right here in the USA, It starts with “R” and that stands for “Religion”, Part III ver. 1.0.1

Is the Gospel of Jesus Christ “Science or Religion”?

Galileo:

“People who are unable to understand perfectly both the Bible and the science far outnumber those who do understand them,” Galileo (1564-1642).

The Church and Galileo:

“On 31 October 1992, 350 years after Galileo’s death, Pope John Paul II gave an address on behalf of the Catholic Church in which he admitted that errors had been made by the theological advisors in the case of Galileo. He declared the Galileo case closed, but he did not admit that the Church was wrong to convict Galileo on a charge of heresy because of his proof that the Earth rotates round the sun.”

Mind science is in its infancy:

Mind science is in its infancy, we do not know much about how this brain we have been given works or even what the extents of the capabilities of this brain (mind) are. ‘The Savior’, aka Jesus, came to this earth and taught us much about how to use this brain (gave us the operating instructions), but did not go into detail about the science behind his teachings. Jesus said we could communicate with the Personal Counselor he sent us after his resurrection and ascension into heaven (an unknown place) He gave us many examples to follow and many parables to help us understand the capabilities of the mind. His only mention of the “Mind” is in his ‘categorical imperative’ “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your “Mind” and with all your soul. He taught us that we could move mountains if we had the faith to do so. He taught us the power of forgiveness. He told us to go to a quiet place like a closet (one’s room) so we could speak with our Father in Heaven. All of these examples points to the reality that we are dealing with a science that we, at this point in time, do not understand. But like all of the things, that the Homo Sapiens have made a religion in history, science was able to explain and shed light on the subject and that religion disappeared into science.

Science is the explanation of Religion:

Science is the explanation of Religion. The glowing examples of science trumping religion were Archimedes and Galileo showing the science of their time. Even the evolutionist, Darwin, showed how life on earth has evolved over the many years in development. Even still today science is a “bad word” in a Christian church. The Universe is expanding at an increasing rate making it more plausible the universe was created by “The Big Bang” theory. If God can create this universe and create life on this planet using evolution as his process, is this science or is this religion?

The Divided House of the USA:

It is not just the different religions that we have in the USA, but the intolerance of these religions for each other that are dividing this nation. A nation thus divided will have great difficulty defeating its adversaries who are united in their religion. A big negative part of religion is that it has the capability of dividing families. What does this have to do with science? It’s been known for centuries that women can get really serious about their religion. Men on the other hand often become religious, that is God becomes “The most important person in their life” between the ages of thirty-five and thirty-nine. Were these men exposed to religion at an early age from their parents or community? Is this the ‘Mustard seed’ spoke about by ‘The Savior, aka Jesus’ twenty centuries ago? When men find religion at the middle-age, they usually have a family and the mother is going to protect the minds of her children from being corrupted by this new religion that their father has found. This is a real issue in “Community Property” states like California where this shift in religion by the children’s father often results in a divorce dividing the family fortune be it large or small. This puts additional burden on our society to get these children through college and be productive GDP producers rather than a continuing burden on our society. “It is the wife’s main responsibility to keep the family fortune intact”. The strength of a nation is its economy not its weapons arsenals or ‘Boots on the ground’. This intolerance of religions for other religions is causing this nation a low ‘National Economic Operating Efficiency’ which in-turn is causing a high national debt and increases the interest that foreign nations have in the land of the USA.

Judging the Advanced Thinkers in our Society:

Society has misjudged some of the greatest minds in history. James Madison the DNA Noble Prize winning scientist stated some controversial statements on mind science, race and sex. His remarks, like similar observations made by President Theodore Roosevelt, implied that some races or sexes are more advanced than another. Statistics always works on averages, means, ranges and standard deviations about the mean. On a normal “Bell Shaped Curve” there is always at least 5 % of the data outside of two standard deviations about the mean on both ends of the curve. Therefore, a general statement regarding mind science on race or sex can only be evaluated in terms of these statistic parameters.

It would be more progressive to identify how and why these intellectual difference occur than to deny they exists at all. Knowing the “How” will lead to “How to improve”. ‘The Savior’, aka Jesus, stated “That to those much has been given, much will be demanded” . This statement clearly states that there are differences between all of us and that some of us have been give more than others. Would not our Creator know more about us than the current science knows about us? The Apostle Paul wrote “There are different kinds of gifs…, there are different kinds of service…, and there are different kinds of working. …each for the common good.” Before we judge these leaders and scientist for making public their observations of us Homo Sapiens, let us give them the benefit of having foresight. Was it not Galileo that was convicted of Heresy for proving that the earth was not the center of the universe by the Church for identifying this issue as science and not religion? If our own religion and ‘Declaration of Independence’ states that “All men are created equal”, can we persecute these leaders and scientist who make different observations be persecuted by society at large? We need to face the facts we were not all created equal but different, with different skills, attributes and knowledge, all of which gives each of us a different path in life. “Different strokes for different folks”. Our Declaration of Independence should have read “All men were created with equal rights”.

Intolerance in the USA:

The USA is divided with many religions causing many differences in opinions and intolerance for one from another. In the Terry Lectures of the 1903’s Carl Jung observed “That Psychical dangers are much more dangerous than epidemics or earthquakes. Not even the medieval epidemics of bubonic plague or smallpox killed as many people as certain differences of opinion in 1914 (WWI) or certain political ideals in Russia (The Bolshevik Revolution).” Add on to these events the number of people killed in WWII, The Korean Conflict, Vietnam Conflict, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now ISIS and ISIL.

Prepare for War Equals go to War:

Being prepared for war will lead to war. This was a voiced concern during Franklin D. Roosevelt’s administration in the 1930’s. FDR wanted to increase our ability to wage war against the rising advancement of the Nazi’s in Europe and threating England. The USA now has the greatest ability in the world to wage war or defend itself against war. The USA has become the ‘Policeman of the World’. When there is unrest somewhere in the world the USA is called upon to come to the rescue. Since the USA has the greatest capability to intervene over these differences in opinions, the USA finds itself in another conflict. Since we have the capability to intervene, we intervene. Are these differences in opinions religion, political, or social, expansion, survival of a group, or other root cause? Should the USA intervene or “Let the chips fall where they may”. President Eisenhower warned us about the military industrial complex. The USA cannot stop making war machines, our economy and jobs depend on making these war machines.

Letting the Genie out-of-the- Bottle:

Once someone or nation has proved that ‘something’ can be accomplished, others or other nations can do the same knowing nothing more than ‘this can be done’. During WWII, FDR was concerned that the Nazi’s would create the nuclear bomb, so he initiated the ‘Manhattan Project’ to develop a nuclear weapon. The ‘Manhattan Project’ was successful in developing this nuclear weapon and was used on Japan to end WWII. The nuclear technology is now public knowledge ‘The Genie is out-of-the-bottle’, other nations, have set about to develop their own nuclear weapon. Now that the technology to build these nuclear weapons is readily available, all that is needed is the materials to construct the weapon. The Nonproliferation programs all focus on controlling the material to build a nuclear weapon.

Building a nuclear weapon requires weapons grade uranium developed by centrifuges using lower grade uranium. Iran had constructed these centrifuges under the guise of developing nuclear power for its country. The USA and Israel know that weapons grade uranium is not need for nuclear power reactors, developed a computer virus to infect the centrifuges being used to produce weapons grade uranium and shut down this operation with this virus. ‘The Genie is out-of-the-bottle’ again. Iran has now developed its own destructive vires and is attacking the infrastructure of the USA and other nations with their own version of this computer virus. Has not the USA and other nations learned that “People who live in glass houses should not throw rocks”.

‘The Savior’, aka Jesus, taught us to “Negotiate a workable compromise” . Would it not be better to use the mind power that has been given to us than trying to defeat the opposition? Is this science or is this religion?
